Suspended Animation™ is a full service, stop motion, clay animation and mixed media design and production house that specializes in character development and realization.  This newly formed company has already completed production on several national spots for clients such as, Burger King (Bromley, Aguliar & Associates, San Antonio, TX), Louis Kemp Seafood (DDB Needham, Chicago), GTE Pagers (CMJ Communications, LA), Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Agewave Impact) and a PSA for the American Lung Association featuring the cartoon characters Gumby and Pokey.

The Burger King project, part of a $70 million new product launch featuring Mr. Potato Head, was the largest and most successful product launch in Burger King history.  In keeping with this success, two of the four spots produced by Suspended Animation™ received numerous awards including two national ADDY Awards for excellence (1 gold, 1 silver).

In addition to the commercial work, Suspended Animation™ is completing a film for Nickelodeon and is in pre-production on an in-house animated film co-created and being directed by Tom Gasek.

Suspended Animation™ was formed in 1997 by award-winning Director Tom Gasek, Executive Producer Byars Cole, and CFO James T.W. Chow.   Prior to forming Suspended Animation™, Byars Cole had launched the commercial division of Mass.Illusion where Tom Gasek joined him as a staff director. Mass.Illusion was a visual effects company which produced the visual effects for such films as; the Academy Award nominated film "Starship Troopers", "Eraser", "Judge Dredd", "Die Hard with a Vengeance" and many others.

Mass.Illusion was bought out in 1997 and has subsequently moved its operation to the West Coast.  Suspended Animation™’s production studio and corporate offices reside in the old Mass.Illusion studio space in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Also working within the same studio space is Suspended Animation™’s "sister" company, Innovation Arts with whom they have an exclusive working arrangement.  Innovation Arts is a physical effects company which designs and fabricates models, miniatures, sets and props for feature films, television and commercials.  Innovation Arts also designs and fabricates specialized camera systems including motion control systems and other specialized production rigs.   Headed by Eric Chamberlain, physical effects supervisor for R/Greenberg Associates for over a decade, and Lisa Fisher, formerly of Editel, NY and R/GA, Innovation Arts has assembled a team of the finest model makers and effects specialists in the country.

 The Studio Size:

The Suspended Animation™ studio is located in the picturesque town of Lenox, Massachusetts in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire Mountains.  Conveniently located 2.5 hours from both New York City and Boston, the 20,000 square foot facility resides on 9 acres and contains 2-3 shooting stages, creative/production bullpen, workshop, and executive suites.

Through our "sister company" Innovation Arts, we share a full model shop, woodworking shop, paint booth, and metal shop with two CNC (computer numeric control) milling operations.  To learn more about Innovation Arts please visit their web site or contact Lisa Fisher at (413) 637-1212, ext. 21.
